Power leads / 3D catalogue & workflow optimisation

From technical drawing to 3D product model.

AITJE built a workflow for a partner specialising in contact cables that converts product data and technical drawings from WordPress into 3D models. AITJE Coder controls Blender; Three.js makes the GLB files usable on the website. Following optimisation, API costs fell from approximately €9 to €0.11–€0.18 per product.

The question

An extensive catalogue.
One model per product.

With connector cables, the details make all the difference: the shape of a connector, the position of the contacts and the way a cable connects. A photograph shows just one side. A rotatable 3D model helps customers view the product from multiple angles.

Our partner has a catalogue of more than 10,000 products. Manually creating a model and a series of images for each product was prohibitively expensive on that scale. AITJE therefore built a repeatable workflow based on the product data and technical drawings that were already in the WordPress CMS.

The solution combines software engineering with a coding agent: fixed steps in code, targeted tasks for AI.

The workflow

From WordPress to Blender.
From Blender to your website.

The coding agent operates automatically via OpenCode. The model calls are sent to GPT-6Astra via the OpenAIAPI; Blender MCP connects the agent to Blender. The steps involved in the model calls provide guidance for the work.

Collect product

A targeted tool call retrieves the product, the associated data and the technical drawing from WordPress. The agent receives the information for this task without having to search through the entire website themselves.

Optimisation

Less research.
Find out more.

In the initial approach, the coding agent was given a great deal of freedom to research, plan and devise the entire process themselves. This cost approximately €9 in API usage per model. With thousands of products, every repeated step adds up.

AITJE documented the working method in structured Markdown files and linked the tasks to the CMS. Product data is received via a targeted tool call. Modelling rules, export and checks follow a fixed structure. This ensures less context is passed to the model and fewer detours are required.

AITJE Coder runs on the client’s own workstation. The AI model used runs via an external API. The savings here result from the optimised workflow.

The costs

From €9 to
€0.11–€0.18.

The same product brief, with a better-organised workflow. The amounts below relate to API usage per product. The complete solution also includes building, optimising and running the workflow.

API costs · indicative cost breakdown for 10,000 products
ApproachPer product10,000’s products
The agent devises the workflow itselfApproximately €9.00Approximately €90,000
Optimised ‘AITJE’ workflow€0.11–€0.18€1,100–€1,800

This breakdown illustrates the scale; it is not a claim that all 10,000 products have already been incorporated. API costs fall by approximately 98–99 per cent. This percentage applies to API usage, not to the total project costs.

60% cheaper

Even when workflow hours are included.

According to the cost comparison for this project, the total solution worked out at approximately 60 per cent lower than the original approach, in which the agent devised the process themselves.

The manual route

Approximately €1,000 for eight images.

That was the quotation from traditional 3D modellers. A series of eight rendered images is a different deliverable to a single GLB model; we therefore use that quotation as context for the decision, not as a directly comparable price per model.

The result

A product presentation
that can grow with you.

The workflow creates 3D product models based on existing product information and drawings. GLB ensures the result remains usable outside Blender, Three.js displays the model on the website and GSAP handles the animation. The integration with the CMS keeps the product and its output linked.

For a catalogue containing thousands of power leads, this combination makes all the difference: a repeatable process, manageable API costs and a model that customers can view from multiple angles themselves.
